"Antiquity" style of an interior design

Style "Antiquity" cames to us from the ancient Greece and Rome.

The style of interior design is characterized as the ideal aesthetic etalon. Columns with ornaments (as an example, Ionic, Doric orders), sculptural portraits of people, reliefs and bas-reliefs on stone plates are used.

The premise is decorated by wall painting and facing. Floors are decorated by a mosaic, carpets. The painted ceiling is decorated by ornaments. As an ornament are used figured, vegetative, geometrical and architectural elements and also a spiral and wavy lines. Walls in the interior are decorated by bright frescos, bas-reliefs, complicate simulate columns painting. If there is an internal court it is possible to decorate it by a colonnade, a fountain, a water reservoir, statues, flower beds, an arbour.

Decoration materials: various wood kinds, marble, bronze, gold, tile and a mosaic facing of walls and a floor of natural stone. Fur and wool can be used for accessories.

Color scale is used at this interior style: delicate soft tones (as an example, ivory color), red (terracotta) and gold shades, yellow, black, dark blue and green.

Furniture is using with this interior style: basically rectangular form furniture of bronze, silver or gold finished furniture, soft upholstery furniture. Benches, stools, chairs on vases are used. Tables of simple or low trapezoid forms with three legs (animal paws form) are used. Painted of different colours or gold finishing small chests are used.

Accessories are using with this interior style: a big and a small sculptures, terracotta statuettes, a big and a small ceramic vases with drawings, various form art painting items (painted by ornaments, mythological and household scenes).

The style of interior design will be suitable for to the large premises with high ceilings and high window apertures.
